• LOSS & GRIEF In this book, Julianna loses her parents to a car accident and her husband’s plane goes missing. What did you notice about the way she processes her grief? Have you been in her situation—losing a parent or a spouse?
• HUMAN SEX TRAFFICKING We learn about the myths and realities of sex trafficking and ways to spot a child in danger. What else did you learn about domestic minor sex trafficking in this novel?
• FIRST IMPRESSIONS When we first meet Brittany, she is trespassing and swearing. Once you learn about her background, do your feelings about her change?
